If you’re a member of many GBWhatsApp groups, you might have noticed that you’ve received many images and videos which is occupying a lot of your internal memory (especially when you can add more than 256 members in a group) on the phone as the WhatsApp store its backup in the internal memory.

To save yourself from this issue, you can transfer and save your backup data directly on the SD card by making the SD Card, the default storage place to store the backup of your GBWhatsApp account.

iOS does not support SD Cards. But if you’re having issues of lack of storage on your phone, you can use the cloud storage service to transfer extra data to the cloud storage.

Alternative Methods to Make SD Cards as Default Storage for WhatsApp

To make the SD card the internal memory of the phone, you need to use a third-party application to do so. Some of the third-party apps that can be used are:-

  • Xinternal
  • Foldermount
  • Storage Redirect

But to use these third-party applications to save WhatsApp data to SD Card by default, root access is required on your phones. Only on the lower version of android (below 4.40) root process is not required. So make sure your phone is rooted if your android version is above 4.4.

Steps to make SD Card default storage location to save WhatsApp backup

Using XInternalSD

Step 1: First, download and install XInternalSD APK.

Step 2: After downloading the APK of the XInternalSD app, open the application on your phone.

Benefits of Storing WhatsApp Backup to SD Card

  • Create Space in Internal Storage.

WhatsApp takes backup of both received as well as sent files in the storage. This result in a faster fill-up of the internal storage. If storage is filled up completely, you’ll not be able to download apps and store any more data. By storing backup in SD Card, it will create some space in the internal storage.

  • Smooth and Faster Performance

Lack of storage in the internal storage creates some issues in the smooth running of the processor. Always try to free up space in the internal memory for better performance of your phone.

  • Solution for Limited Internal Memory

We know that our phones come with limited internal memory. And our requirement is always more than the internal memory. The only solution for extra memory is to transfer data to SD Cards or use cloud services.

Conclusion

GBWhatsApp application is the best-modded version to connect with people. However, GBWhatsApp’s backup size is larger than any other app as it takes backup of images, videos, and chats along with documents received or sent. You can use SD cards as the default memory storage location to free up internal storage space.
